Karen Mair has a background in Geoscience, working as an academic for over 25 years at the University of Edinburgh, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Toronto and University of Oslo. She studied Design Informatics and Sound Design at Edinburgh College of Art and now works at the interface of geoscience, sound and design.

Karen strives to make data more accessible and engage the public with science through listening. She does this combining field recording, sound design and data sonification.
